Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, has opened up about her initial worries and disturbance when her husband, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, expressed his desire to join politics. Banky W announced his political aspirations on November 11, 2018, aiming to contest for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat under the Modern Democratic Party.
Despite Banky W’s unsuccessful bids in the 2019 and 2023 elections, where he lost to other candidates, Adesua Etomi-Wellington stood by her husband’s side. In a recent interview with Hip TV, she shared her journey of going from worry and disturbance to wholeheartedly supporting Banky W.
Adesua admitted to feeling concerned about his decision at first, but she emphasized that she believes purpose is more important than fear. Understanding the significance of fulfilling one’s purpose, she decided to fully support Banky W in his political journey, expressing her unwavering backing for him.
She said, “When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it. But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfill purpose. So, he has my support 100 percent.”
