Ebenebe-Achalla Road, located in the state’s Awka North Local Government Area, was the target of a planned heist, according to the Anambra State Police Command.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s press secretary, revealed this in a statement to the media on Tuesday and added that the operation had taken place the previous day.
Ikenga stated that the operation was carried out by members of the Rapid Response Squad from Awkuzu while on an anti-kidnapping patrol in response to a tip from a local who noticed the robbery suspects riding a motorcycle while armed.

The spokesman said, “When they saw the oncoming agents, they attempted to shoot at them, but the combat-ready operatives swiftly overpowered them, causing them to drop their weapons and flee into the surrounding brush.
“Operations searched the bush and found two AK-47 rifles loaded with a number of 7.62mm rounds as well as shells from spent rounds.”
He continued by saying that CP Aderemi Adeoye, the state’s commissioner of police, praised the squad for their bravery and instructed them to intensify proactive operations in that region of the state until all criminal elements harassing residents were entirely eliminated.
