Carlo Ancelotti continues to stand by Vinicius Jr., voicing his displeasure over the Brazillian’s recent two-game suspension.
The Real Madrid manager openly criticized the decision following Vinicius’ straight red card during their narrow 2-1 win over Valencia, a match that saw Los Blancos climb to the top of the La Liga standings. Despite the victory, the encounter proved challenging, with the Madrid reduced to 10 men and relying on Jude Bellingham’s late winner to secure the points.

Vinicius recieved his matching orders in the 79th minute for shoving Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dmitrievski in the face. The incident occurred after Dmitrievski attempted to pull Vinicius up while the winger was protesting a penalty-area foul. Referee Cesar Soto Grado reviewed the situation via VAR and immediately issued a red card to confront the official but was restrained by teammate Antonio Rüdiger.
Yesterday it was confirmed that Vinicius would serve a two-match suspension, ruling him out of La Liga fixtures against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
Ancelotti has bee vocal about his defense for the player, arguing the incident warranted only a yellow card. Speaking ahead of their Supercopa de España semi-final against Mallorca, he expressed his frustration with the decision, stating:
“It’s unfair. I hear the insults and what he suffers. it’s not right. I get tired of it… when people talk about Vini’s behaviour, all the insults, abuse and other things that happen to him are forgotten.”
