APC Attributes Edo Election Victory to Party Unity

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has credited the party’s internal unity for its success in the recent Edo State governorship election. Speaking on Arise TV, Morka emphasized that the collective effort of all political actors within the party, despite tensions from the primaries, led to the victory of Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo. He highlighted the role of President Bola Tinubu, National Chairman Umar Ganduje, and the APC’s National Working Committee in bringing everyone together to support the party’s candidate.

Morka acknowledged that APC primaries often create internal competition and tension, but once Okpebholo emerged as the flag bearer, the party rallied behind him. He noted that even those who opposed him during the primaries showed unwavering support during the election, demonstrating a commitment to party success over individual preferences. This unity, he said, was crucial to the party’s win.

He further dismissed concerns about potential interference from political godfathers in Okpebholo’s administration, stating that the party’s focus is on allowing the Governor-elect to deliver on developmental promises to Edo State. Morka assured that APC will support Okpebholo’s leadership, ensuring he governs in the best interest of the people without external pressures.
