The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on his re-election in the off-cycle governorship poll held on Saturday. Ganduje also expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming support shown by the electorate in Kogi State in electing Alhaji Usman Ododo as governor.
In a statement, Ganduje highlighted that the victories in both states reinforce the fact that Nigerians are comfortable with the APC. He stated that the outcomes underscore the country’s appreciation for good governance and a desire for continuity in peace and sustainable growth.
Ganduje commended Governor Uzodimma for his developmental strides in Imo State and expressed confidence that Ododo would consolidate on the legacies of outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.
While urging members of the opposition in both states to accept defeat gracefully, Ganduje acknowledged the importance of a viable opposition in democracy. He called on them to join hands with the governors-elect in moving their respective states forward, emphasizing that, in democracy, there will always be another chance to test one’s level of acceptability among the electorate.
