The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), labeling them as a party desperate for relevance. This came in response to the PDP’s harsh remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s Independence Day speech. The opposition party had accused Tinubu of making false claims of achievements, describing the speech as a “waste of time” and insensitive to the struggles of ordinary Nigerians.

In a statement, the PDP highlighted the speech’s failure to address critical issues such as economic hardship, unemployment, and poverty. They argued that Tinubu’s administration had not effectively tackled the country’s pressing economic and security challenges, leaving millions of Nigerians in distress.
Responding through its Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, the APC dismissed the PDP’s comments as frustration over the success the ruling party has achieved. Ibrahim asserted that since the PDP left office, peace and stability have been restored in Nigeria, especially in Abuja. He emphasized that Tinubu’s government is committed to moving the country forward, and the opposition’s criticisms are merely reactions to the APC’s accomplishments.
