Arole Raises Alarm Over Hypocrisy and Favoritism

Nigerian comedian and actor, Woli Arole, has voiced his deep concern over the troubling trends in the gospel music industry. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, he decried the growing infiltration of hypocrisy, worldliness, and an unhealthy network of favoritism within the ministry.

According to Arole, the culture of ministerial invitations has shifted from divine leading to mere personal connections, raising questions about authenticity. He lamented how many gospel artists now blur the lines between performance and true ministry, making it difficult to distinguish entertainers from genuine worshippers.

Meanwhile, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Love World (Christ Embassy), has also criticized the monetization of gospel music, asserting that those who charge for ministry are no longer singing for God. He warned that as churches return to genuine worship, such artists may find themselves sidelined.
