Reports indicate that Las Vegas police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur, which occurred nearly three decades ago.
In the 1996 drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Tupac Shakur sustained four gunshot wounds, and the identity of his assailant has remained a mystery.
Sources, as reported by the AP news agency, suggest that Las Vegas police apprehended an individual linked to his death on Friday. A police press conference is expected shortly. Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996, at the age of 25, a week after being shot four times while waiting at a red light in his car.
ABC News also reported statements from a senior law enforcement official, indicating that charges related to Shakur’s murder would be announced on Friday afternoon, and a suspect had been taken into custody in connection with the case.
These developments follow reports of a July raid by Las Vegas police on a gang member’s residence in their pursuit of leads related to Shakur’s killing.
