The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who criticized the APC-led federal government in a statement titled ‘The 10 Lies of the APC-led Federal Government.’ Shaibu accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of thriving on lies and deceits.
In a statement issued on Monday night, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, criticized Shaibu, suggesting that he was struggling to come to terms with the consecutive electoral defeats suffered by Atiku and his team in the presidential polls and election petitions tribunal.
Morka stated, “In his pathological and cynical flippancy, Atiku’s aide delved into matters he clearly does not understand or lacks the constitutive capacity to understand as a result of post-electoral traumatic stress disorder arising from his boss’ serial electoral failure.”
Morka contested some of Shaibu’s claims, pointing out that Shaibu’s assertion that fuel subsidy had returned was incorrect. He explained that the government’s interventions were aimed at achieving price stability and predictability, not a return to the previous fuel subsidy system.
Furthermore, Morka noted that the lifting of the visa ban on Nigerians by the United Arab Emirates authorities should be seen as a positive development and urged Nigerians to ignore the spread of fake news. He concluded by suggesting that Shaibu and others like him were attempting to distort facts to support their politically defeated principal.
