Despite the recent ban by Nigeria’s broadcasting commission, some Nigerians living abroad are boldly dancing to Eedris Abdulkareem’s hit song “Tell Your Papa.” A video showing a group of men happily singing and dancing to the track has gone viral online, sparking mixed reactions.
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had earlier placed a ban on the song, saying it goes against the country’s broadcast rules. In a letter dated April 9, 2025, NBC labeled the track “Not To Be Broadcast” because of its “offensive” content, as stated in the Nigerian Broadcasting Code.
But clearly, not everyone is following the ban. Instead, these Nigerians abroad are turning the song into a celebration, showing no concern for the restriction. The video has caught the attention of many online, with people cheering, laughing, and joining the trend.
