In a heartbreaking incident, a woman identified as Madam Stella has reportedly drowned her six-year-old daughter, Rachel, in a river at Ukubie community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Despite warnings to stop, the child continued, which led the mother, in a fit of anger, to push her into the river. The tragic act resulted in the young girl drowning. When confronted by the shocked community, Stella admitted to the act, pleading for forgiveness, saying, “I regret my actions. I never knew it would happen this way.”
A family member, Jeph Nation, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “I have recorded two deaths already in my paternal family at Ukubie this year. All were painful, but this one is truly heartbreaking.” The incident has left the community in disbelief, sparking conversations on anger management and the fragile line between discipline and tragedy.
