Body of Corps member found in Ogun apartment

Last Wednesday, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, identified as Medaiyese Emmanuel, was found dead at his apartment on Sogbesan Street in the Oluwo district of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to reports on Sunday, the event occurred after the deceased’s mother failed to reach Emmanuel on his cell phone.

When the deceased’s phone rang after many attempts, the mother was alleged to have started looking for someone to help check on Emmanuel at his Sogbesan flat.

The person who witnessed the incident stated, “After receiving the information from Emmanuel’s mother, Olumide left his room for the corps member’s apartment to discover that the room had been locked from inside.”
It was also revealed that when all attempts to unlock the door failed, Olumide and other neighbours were met with Emmanuel’s lifeless body on the floor of the apartment after forcing the door open.

When the reporters were contacted, the Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, verified the occurrence on Sunday but stated that there was no evidence of a suicide or murder because no signs of violence were found on the deceased’s body.
