In a tragic incident in the Sapele area of Delta State, a carpenter identified as Orunor is accused of beating his apprentice to death. The apprentice, named Onome, reportedly faced disciplinary action for arriving late to work and later succumbed to the punishment meted out by his employer.
According to a resident of the area, Orunor also accused the young apprentice of stealing his ATM card, which allegedly prompted the beating. After returning home, Onome complained to his parents about not feeling well and narrated the ordeal at his workplace. The parents planned to take him to the hospital for a checkup, but before arrangements could be made, Onome tragically passed away.
Upon hearing the news, Orunor reportedly fled the scene, and the workshop has since been locked. The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the carpenter, who is currently at large.
