Alhaji Talba Diginsa, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State’s Birniwa Local Government Area, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) along with his supporters.
Diginsa claimed that the PDP’s executive members on the council, along with 360 other members, abandoned the party due to a lack of focus and inadequate leadership in the state.

He continued, “We decided to leave the PDP notwithstanding our party positions because of the great leadership and devotion of the current Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Namadi, in just six months in office.
“We are sure Governor Mallam Umar Namadi will succeed in governing the state by looking at his 12 points agenda.”
Speaking after greeting the decamped members at Kwanar Dole, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel, the state APC chairman, stated that the party is willing to embrace anyone for the sake of its progress.
Gumel pledged to work with the new members to ensure the party’s success.
