Charly Boy Opens Up About His Struggles with Quitting Smoking

Veteran Nigerian artist and actor, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has candidly discussed his struggles with quitting smoking. In an interview with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, the 73-year-old entertainer, who emphasizes his abstinence from alcohol, shared insights into his health-conscious lifestyle.

Charly Boy, who frequents the gym to maintain fitness, highlighted the longevity of his parents and grandparents as motivation for his well-being. While admitting to occasionally indulging in alcoholic wine, he clarified that he is not a regular drinker.

The maverick singer acknowledged his attempts to quit smoking, revealing the longest period of abstinence was approximately seven years. Despite intermittent success, he admitted to ongoing battles with the addictive habit.
