A Chinese national and one other person have been arrested in Umunneochi LGA by the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), led by Commandant UI Alfadarai, on charges of running a quarry on a property owned by another corporation.
The NSCDC released a statement stating that the Chinese were found and arrested in response to a complaint made by JINLOYS NIGERIA LIMITED, the original owner of the site, alleging that Chinese nationals had unlawfully taken over his legally assigned site, license numbers 22284QL and 46404QLS, without authorization.
It was stated by the police command that illegal behavior would not be tolerated in a nation where the administration of President Bola Tinubu was transforming the economy to facilitate the growth of businesses.
