Daniel Bwala, former spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa presidential campaign, has claimed that many Obidients are members or apologists of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Speaking on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Bwala asserted that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), lacks a history of democratic credentials.
Bwala explained his frequent social media attacks on Obi and Obidients as self-defense against their alleged bullying. He criticized Obidients for abusing those who disagree with them on political matters, suggesting they lack respect for democratic values. Bwala dismissed claims of obsession with Obi, emphasizing that his focus is on defending himself from unwarranted attacks.
Despite his strong assertions, Bwala admitted he had no empirical data to support his claim that most Obidients are IPOB members, stating it was his opinion based on observation rather than verified evidence.
