Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that he was surprised when U.S. rapper Nicki Minaj responded to his message about a music collaboration. Despite working together on two songs, he shared that they have never met in person.
Speaking on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Davido said he first reached out to Nicki after noticing she followed him on social media. To his surprise, she replied the next morning, and within days, she recorded her verse for their 2020 hit Holy Ground.
He also revealed that they planned to shoot a video in Los Angeles, but it didn’t happen due to Nicki’s pregnancy. However, their bond remains strong, and she later invited him to collaborate again on her anniversary album.
