Grammy-nominated singer Davido has dismissed threats to cancel his December 24 Lagos show over his recent comments about Nigeria’s struggling economy. In a post on X, he said, “Dem say dem go cancel my show… loooool I don’t have to perform in Nigeria.”
Despite the backlash, Davido praised Nigerians’ global impact, claiming the best doctors in the U.S. are Nigerians. He also highlighted Africa’s growing influence in music and film, noting that Western creatives now look to Africans for inspiration.
Davido emphasized that Nigerians excel globally, saying, “Our imagination is off the grid.”
