Prominent PDP chieftain Dele Momodu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have condemned President Bola Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy for six months.
Momodu criticized Tinubu for not restraining FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, whom he accused of fueling the crisis in Rivers. He argued that instead of intervening politically, Tinubu “threw out an elected government through the backdoor.”
Atiku also blasted the president’s actions, calling them “disgraceful” and politically motivated. He accused Tinubu of either enabling or failing to prevent the crisis, warning that the move undermines democracy and sets a dangerous precedent.
