Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed claims of leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Addressing the rumors on Sunday, El-Rufai labeled them as the work of “mischief makers” and emphasized that any such move would have been publicly announced.
Through a post on his verified X handle, El-Rufai urged the public to ignore the false reports. He added that he has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against the individuals behind the fake news. “Please disregard the patent lies and rumors about my political affiliation,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the PDP leadership has expressed confidence in reclaiming power at the federal level in 2027, citing public dissatisfaction with the current administration. This was revealed during a visit to Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, where the party’s optimism for broader electoral success was discussed.
