Emirates Resumes Daily Flights to Nigeria

Dubai, UAE, 16 May 2024 – Emirates is set to resume its daily flights to Nigeria starting 1 October 2024. This service will connect Lagos and Dubai, enhancing travel options and connectivity for passengers.

The daily flights will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER. Flight EK783 will depart Dubai at 0945hrs, arriving in Lagos at 1520hrs. The return flight, EK784, will leave Lagos at 1730hrs, arriving in Dubai at 0510hrs the next day. Tickets are available now on emirates.com or through travel agents.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about resuming the service. “The Lagos-Dubai route has always been popular among our customers in Nigeria. We look forward to reconnecting leisure and business travelers to Dubai and beyond. We appreciate the Nigerian government’s support in re-establishing this route.”

With this resumption, Emirates will serve 19 destinations in Africa with 157 weekly flights from Dubai. The airline also extends its reach to 130 regional points in Africa through partnerships with airlines like South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, and Tunis Air.

Nigeria, a key economic hub in Africa, has strong trade relations with the UAE, centered in Lagos, the commercial heart of the nation. The return of daily flights will enhance these relations, with Emirates SkyCargo providing over 300 tonnes of cargo capacity each week.

Emirates SkyCargo will support Nigerian businesses by exporting goods through Dubai to markets like the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. Key exports will include Kola Nuts, food, beverages, and urgent courier material. Imports will include pharmaceuticals, electronics, and general cargo from key markets such as the UAE, India, and Hong Kong.

The Boeing 777-300ER on the Lagos route will feature 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats. Passengers will enjoy regionally inspired multi-course meals and a wide selection of premium beverages. Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, offers over 6,500 channels, including 23 Nigerian movies, series, and other global content.
