Ex-Buhari Aide Comments on Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Atiku Merger Reports

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has responded to reports of a potential merger involving Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Reports emerged recently suggesting that Obi, Atiku, and Kwankwaso are working on a collaborative effort to establish a strong platform capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Despite these alliance talks, Kwankwaso paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In a Twitter post on Friday, Ahmad expressed his opinion on the situation. He believed that Kwankwaso would be better off aligning with President Tinubu and the APC, as this could provide a smoother path for his future political ambitions. Ahmad indicated that revisiting an unsuccessful alliance with Atiku and Obi might not be beneficial for Kwankwaso. He emphasized that Kwankwaso has a long political journey ahead and should consider joining the winning side.

Ahmad’s tweet read: “It is more strategically and politically advantageous for Kwankwaso to align with President Tinubu/APC, which could provide a smoother trajectory for his future political aspirations, than revisiting a previously unsuccessful alliance with Atiku and Peter. Kwankwaso has a long journey ahead. Join the winning team, Sir.”
