Fan Clash Before Bayern-Galatasaray Champions League Match

Before their upcoming Champions League match, approximately 100 fans from Bayern Munich and Galatasaray were engaged in a clash in a prominent bar area in Istanbul.

Reports from Turkish media indicate that during the altercation, four German fans and one Turkish fan sustained minor injuries. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with this incident. Street cameras captured images of fans throwing chairs and small objects along the main street in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district.

The Beyoglu district is a well-known tourist area, often frequented by Galatasaray fans, and the disturbance began when fans started focusing their attention on one of the team’s merchandise stores.

According to the IHA news agency, approximately 70 German and 30 Turkish fans were involved in the altercation. The German consulate in Istanbul has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the incident.

Bayern Munich boasts an impressive record of 36 unbeaten matches in the Champions League group stage and currently leads Group A leading up to the match scheduled for Tuesday.

In contrast, Galatasaray holds the second position in the group and is coming off a significant victory against Manchester United in their previous group-stage match.
