A person died and three others sustained injuries in separate accidents that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The first accident happened in the Conoil area of the expressway, while the second took place in the Makun area.
According to an eyewitness, lack of concentration by drivers led to the second accident involving multiple vehicles. A truck carrying a container attempted to switch lanes without considering a tipper truck beside it. The tipper truck attempted to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful, resulting in a multiple-vehicle collision.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the accidents. The first accident involved a Man-diesel truck and resulted in one fatality due to speeding and loss of control. The second accident involved a long truck, a tipper truck, and a Cabstar vehicle. Three individuals were injured in the latter accident, and the deceased person’s body was taken to a morgue while the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
