A father has been detained after it was claimed that he choked his two-month-old daughter to death by shoving a baby wipe down her throat to block out her cries.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Joseph Napier, 30, was arrested more than two years after his infant daughter Iris Noelle Napier was discovered unconscious at his Vero Beach, Florida, home.
Why can’t you shut the f*** up?! Napier is said to have yelled at his daughter.
In May 2021, deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an unconscious infant at a residence in the 1500 block of 6th Avenue. The 911 call was made by Napier.
The child was given CPR by emergency personnel as she was ‘becoming blue,’ according to the sheriff’s office. She was taken to a hospital in an ambulance and later declared dead there.
Napier first claimed to have seen a small white thing in the back of her mouth and that she had choked, according to deputies.
He then accused Iris of having his 18-month-old daughter for around ten minutes, thereby placing the blame on the younger child.
Napier allegedly discovered Iris choking but did not call 911 for five minutes, according to the police.
He was aware that he was to blame. He was putting his narrative together,’ Flowers added. To silence the child, “He put that wipe in kid’s mouth.”
