FG Revises Financial Management Policies, Pledges Transparency

The Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, has announced that the financial management policies of Nigeria are currently under review. Dr. Madein expressed her commitment to upholding and promoting prudence, transparency, and accountability in government financial transactions.

She mentioned that since taking office, she has conducted a comprehensive review of financial reforms and plans to inject new ideas and strategies to sustain the gains achieved so far. Dr. Madein also highlighted improved operations in the IPPIS payment platform following engagements with service providers.

Furthermore, she emphasized her commitment to publishing details of FAAC revenue distribution to keep the public informed about government revenue generation and distribution efforts. The 2022 revenue distribution figures are ready for publication, with updates on 2023 revenue distribution to follow.

Dr. Madein emphasized the importance of keeping citizens informed about public funds management and ensuring the prompt release of funds to government agencies and tiers to facilitate development efforts.
