“Freedom Restored: Abducted Ebonyi Catholic Priest and Three Others Regain Liberty”

In a moment of answered prayers, Rev. Fr. Opoke, the abducted Catholic priest, has been released by his captors. The Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Opoke, expressed gratitude to Governor Francis Nwifuru and the security agencies for their unwavering efforts in securing the release of the four abducted individuals.

“We are thankful to God for His remarkable intervention in effecting the unconditional release of His servant,” stated Opoke.

Rev. Fr. Azubuike and three others were kidnapped by gunmen in Ebonyi State. Azubuike was abducted near his residence in Isu, Onicha Local Government Area, while returning from pastoral duties.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, could not provide details on the matter at the time of this report.

The Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki had earlier appealed for prayers following Azubuike’s abduction. The Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Uzoma Opoke, requested the intercession of Mother Mary and urged the faithful to pray for the safe return of the abducted individuals.
