Governor Adeleke Yarn Say E No Appoint Acting CJ

Plenty drama waka enta di suspension palava wey dey follow Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo, as Governor Ademola Adeleke talk say e no appoint any Acting Chief Judge to replace Justice Ojo.

Last Thursday, di State House of Assembly tell Justice Ojo to waka sidon as dem wan investigate petitions wey pipo write against her. For di same day, di governor spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, talk say dem don approve Justice Olayinka Afolabi as Acting Chief Judge.

But on Sunday, di Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, yan say Governor Adeleke no appoint anybody as Acting Chief Judge. Alimi talk say di governor carry di mata go Chief Justice of Nigeria notice and recommend say make dem appoint Acting Chief Judge through di National Judicial Council (NJC).

“Di governor, for di same letter, recommend to di CJN, say make dem consider and process di appointment of di most senior judicial officer, Hon. Justice Olayinka Afolabi, through NJC and di CJN,” Alimi talk.

Even as dem talk say dem go swear in di Acting Chief Judge on Friday, e no happen, and dem talk say dem dey follow di right procedure. Alimi still talk say Governor Adeleke dey yan seriously about obeying law.

Meanwhile, di Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and di All Progressives Congress (APC) dey yan serious tori over di Chief Judge matter. APC talk say di governor no sabi di law well, but PDP dey support Governor Adeleke and di House of Assembly.

Plenty tori dey around why dem comot Justice Ojo, and di governor spokesperson talk say e no get to do with any judgement. Counsel for di suspended Chief Judge, Oladipo Olasope (SAN), talk say dem no follow due process for her suspension, and e no sabi any petition wey dey against her.
