Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has invited the Department of Security Services (DSS) to join the probe of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The invitation was communicated through a statement signed by Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Tuesday.
Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, passed away last Tuesday at the age of 27, leading to calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The state government expressed condolences to Mohbad’s family and fans and conveyed its understanding of the pain caused by the loss of such a talented and promising young artist.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has taken steps to ensure a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death. In addition to the police special investigative team in Lagos, he has invited the DSS to participate in the probe. This inter-agency collaboration aims to use advanced technology to uncover the truth.
The statement emphasized the governor’s directive that all individuals who may have played any role in events leading to Mohbad’s death should face the law after a thorough investigation.
The Lagos State government appealed to anyone with vital information to come forward and assist the investigation process. It also urged the investigating team to ensure the confidentiality and protection of all witnesses who might provide crucial information or evidence.
In addition to the government’s efforts, the management of Mohbad announced a candlelight procession and tribute night for the late artist to honor his memory and seek answers about his passing.
