“Ibadan Buzzing: Traditional Worshippers Gear Up for Isese Day Celebration!”

Oyo State’s Traditional Religion Worshippers Association is singing the praises of Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to religious harmony and the promotion of freedom of faith.

Last Friday, via the State Secretary, Olanike Adeyemo, Makinde announced a remarkable initiative: the declaration of August 20 as Isese Festival Day, with an accompanying public holiday on August 21 for the state’s workforce.

The association members are abuzz with excitement, gearing up for an array of events that will mark the inaugural Isese Day festival, backed by official government approval.

Fakayode Fatunde, the association’s Secretary, along with Ibadan’s Araba Ifalere Odegbola and Omikunmi Egbelade of Aare Isese Foundation, issued a joint statement commending the governor’s strong resolve to instill equality among various religions and their followers within the state.

In their words, this groundbreaking move by the governor not only reflects his consistent promise-keeping track record but also carves his name into history as a trailblazer who champions religious equality for the betterment of society.

With the Isese Day celebration just around the corner, the group encourages followers of the traditional faith to seize this opportunity to draw closer to their Creator. They emphasize that prayers should be directed toward the prosperity of humanity, Nigeria, the state itself, and the well-being of their households.

Despite the delay, the association expresses their profound gratitude that Governor Makinde has broken the mold, finally designating a special day for celebrating Isese Day in their beloved state. This gesture holds immense significance, especially considering past administrations never granted such recognition despite numerous appeals.

Today, the governor stands as a beacon of progress, etching his legacy as a leader who fearlessly champions equality among religions. The group seizes this moment to thank the divine force behind all creation and those who contributed to this milestone achievement.
