ID Cabasa, the renowned music producer and singer, has shed light on the inner workings of Marlian Records, a label owned by Naira Marley, following the untimely demise of Nigerian musician, Mohbad. Mohbad’s passing last week has raised questions, with some pointing fingers at Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, for their alleged involvement.
Evidence, including documents and videos, has circulated online, suggesting that Mohbad faced severe mistreatment after leaving Marlian Records. During a recent Instagram live session, ID Cabasa expressed his concerns about how signees are treated within the label.
He made a startling claim that assets like cars and a house, which were supposedly acquired by one of Naira Marley’s signees, Zinoleesky, were registered in the label’s name rather than in Zinoleesky’s personal capacity.
According to ID Cabasa, “I started hearing a lot of things coming from that label, that even some of the things that were bought for Zinoleesky, the house, the cars were not bought in the boy’s name. That’s wickedness from the highest order.”
ID Cabasa has played a pivotal role in nurturing musical talents like 9ice and Olamide under his label.
