In-law of the terrorists’ commander, Dogo Gide, also known as Kenkere, was apprehended by troops under the direction of vigilantes at Kagarko market in Kaduna State.
According to reports, Dogo Gide, a terrorist leader, claimed responsibility in a video for the shooting of a Nigerian Air Force jet at Shiroro, Niger State, last week, which resulted in the deaths of some soldiers and senior officials.
A security source who wished to remain anonymous confirmed the arrest of the terrorists’ commander’s in-law over the phone on Sunday, stating that Kenkere was taken into custody last Thursday at the nearby Kagarko market.
He claimed that Kenkere, a Fulani settler living in the nearby community of Janjala and raising cows, had been eluding security arrest for more than two weeks.
He added, “You know the commander of the terrorists lives at a Fulani community in Janjala village here in Kagarko and is married to one of Malm Kenkere’s daughters.
He said that the in-law of the terrorists’ commander was apprehended as a result of informed information that Dogo Gide occasionally hides at his in-law’s settlement in Janjala.
In reality, according to informed knowledge, the majority of the attacks and kidnappings that took place in and around Kagarko Local Government Area villages were carried out by the terrorists’ commander Dogo Gide’s sons, he alleged.
