Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has initiated the distribution of meat from 700 cows to 5,600 needy individuals in celebration of the 2024 Eid El Kabir festivities. This initiative, targeted at the vulnerable within the state, is supported by the German non-profit organization HASENE in collaboration with the BARIS Foundation.
During a ceremony at Bayero University, Kano, Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude for the generous act and its positive impact on the community. He called on the organizers and participants to act with fairness and respect for Allah, ensuring the successful execution of the Kurban project.
The Governor emphasized that the distribution should reach patients in hospitals, residents in care facilities, and homeless individuals. He reiterated the state’s commitment to partnering with organizations that aim to support the people of Kano in various aspects of life.
Muhammad Aydin, a German sponsor involved in the initiative, highlighted their dedication to enhancing unity within the Muslim community through this sacrificial meat distribution. He also appreciated the warm welcome and support from the Kano State Government and its citizens.
