The Kano State Government has initiated a scholarship program to sponsor 1001 postgraduate students to India and Uganda for various postgraduate programs. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced this program during a flag-off ceremony in Kano, marking the commencement of the scholarship scheme with 550 students.
The foreign scholarship program was introduced by former Governor Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso and has brought significant benefits to the state and the nation. Many professionals who received their education through this scheme now hold important positions of authority in the government.
The students who were part of the first batch received their scholarship offers and travel documents from the governor during the event. Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso praised the state government for continuing this scholarship initiative and advised the beneficiaries to excel in their studies and become assets to their families and the country.
This scholarship program aims to promote education and create opportunities for Nigerian students to pursue postgraduate studies abroad, ultimately contributing to the country’s development.
