Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has criticized those seeking to nullify President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election. Keyamo also urged those opposed to Tinubu’s victory to “have some sense” and support his government.
Keyamo’s comments came in response to the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal’s decision to dismiss the case filed by Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, upholding Tinubu’s electoral victory.
Keyamo, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), expressed satisfaction with the tribunal’s judgment and suggested that the ruling had validated his and others’ claims. He mentioned several issues that had been raised during the campaign and post-campaign period, stating that the tribunal’s decision proved those claims right.
In his message, Keyamo congratulated President Tinubu for the judicial vindication and urged those who opposed him to accept the verdict, support his government, and participate in national reconciliation.
The tribunal, chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani, unanimously upheld Tinubu’s electoral victory and dismissed the petitions filed by Atiku and Obi challenging the election results.
