The wife of a pastor at Evangelical Church Winning All in Agbeku, in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, was believed to have been killed on Saturday night by kidnappers who broke into the community. Another victim is said to be fighting for his life in a hospital.
The abductors reportedly broke into the victims’ homes and the church auditorium. One of the victims was the late pastor’s wife, who ran a provision store in the area. Rasaki Zubair, a community leader, told reporters on Sunday that the kidnappers allegedly “killed Mrs Olawale while another victim, also shot, was battling for his life in a hospital in the area. “The abductors also went away with the aide of the late pastor’s wife and another male victim.”
Victor Olaiya, the Commissioner of Police, did not pick up when called multiple times on Sunday.
After SP Ajayi Okasanmi retired, the command had not yet named a spokesperson; however, a senior officer who spoke with our correspondent verified the incident.
“We are trying to get details about the incident for now, please,” the officer continued.
