King Bubaraye Dakolo, Agada IV, the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers in Bayelsa State, is a prominent figure known for his radical thoughts and background as a soldier. Recently, he has gained recognition for authoring three books that shed light on critical issues in the Nigerian State and the Niger Delta region.
In a recent interview, King Dakolo pointed out that crude oil theft continues to thrive in the region due to the mismanagement of oil resources by the Nigerian government over the past 67 years. He criticized the lack of transparency and accountability in the oil industry, leading to severe losses for Nigeria.
Regarding his writing spree, King Dakolo attributes it to the scarcity of accurate information on crucial matters and the need for critical thinking. He also mentions a special room in his palace, the Niger Delta Hall of Fame, where he finds inspiration and ideas for his books.
On the issue of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), King Dakolo joins Governor Douye Diri in labeling it a time bomb, stating that it favors oil companies over the Niger Delta people. He emphasizes the need for fairness and development in the Niger Delta region, urging President Bola Tinubu to address the region’s issues effectively.
King Dakolo further discusses the issue of fuel subsidy, stating that proper management of Nigeria’s resources would eliminate the need for such subsidies. He highlights the importance of government responsibility and transparency in managing the country’s affairs.
Overall, King Dakolo’s views reflect his passion for the Niger Delta’s rights and a call for transparency and accountability in the management of Nigeria’s oil resources.
