The Kogi State government maintained its resolve to not give control to the criminals terrorizing the state, and assured its inhabitants of a peaceful governorship election on November 11.
At a press conference held on Monday in Lokoja, the state’s commissioner for information and communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, revealed this.
It is our obligation to reassure our people that they won’t be attacked while exercising their right to vote, he said.
“Stiff resistance will be provided to intimidation, ethnic and religious profiling, and other anti-social and unlawful acts.”
Therefore, the state administration urged security organizations to “call the inciting actors for careful inquiry and be held responsible for their accusations.
He defended the claims of extrajudicial murders in the state, saying “A person who attempts to evade lawful arrest and even attempts to kill security agents can no longer hold on to such rights.”
