Barcelona’s rising talent, Lamine Yamal, has set his sights on winning the Ballon d’Or in the near future following his recent Kopa Trophy Triumph.
In a light-hearted moment after the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Yamal had a playful exchange with felloe barcelona star Aitana Bonmati, who had just claimed her second Ballon d’Or for her outstanding performances with Barcelona Femeni.

Bonmati shared in an interview with Diario Sport that she had offered Yamal a chance to hold her Ballon d’Or trophy. However, the 17-year-old forward humorously declined, explaining that he didn’t want to ‘jinx’ his own chances of winning the prestigious award in the future.
Lamine’s refusal, paired with his superstition, shows his ambition to achieve one of football’s highest individual honours. Having already secured the Kopa trophy for his exceptional talent at a young age, Lamine continues to impress with his on-field brilliance.
Now fully focused on his development, Yamal is determined to lead Barcelona’s young squad to future success and bring more major honours to the club, with the Ballon d’Or firmly in his long-term vision.
