On Wednesday, the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan issued an order remanding one Kazeem Adiatu, 44, in penitentiary for the suspected murder of Temitope, a 20-year-old woman.
Adiatu was accused of killing someone; his home location was withheld.
The defendant’s allegation of lack of jurisdiction was rejected by the magistrate, Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun.
In order to obtain legal counsel, he gave the police instructions to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
After that, he postponed the matter until March 27 for further consideration.
The defendant is said to have done the offense on November 24, 2023, at Olowo Area of Ibadan, according to the prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, who testified in court.
Amusan claimed that Temitope was unjustly killed by Adiatu by striking her in the head with a cement block.
According to him, the offense was in violation of Oyo State’s 2000 Criminal Laws, Section 319.
