Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal, noting that it demonstrated Chelsea’s ability to compete with any top team.
Maresca had previously praised Mikel Areta’s arsenalm labelling them as one of the best teams in the league and even acknowledging that his Chelsea side were not on their level – remarks that drew criticism from Chelsea fans.

Chelsea began the match cautiously, showing respect for their opponents, but gradually found their rhythm. Although the game remained balanced for much of the contest, Arsenal appeared slightly more dangerous.
Kai Havertz found the back of the net around the half-hour mark but was met with boos from the home crowd, only for his goal to be disallowed by VAR.
Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock, with a brilliant pass from Martin Ødegaard setting up Gabriel Martinelli, who finished superbly to give the Gunners the lead.
Chelsea responded with determination, equalizing through Pedro Neto in the 70th minute, just ten minutes after Arsenal’s goal. They created further chances to secure a win but ultimately had to settle for a draw.
Maresca, expressed pride in his team’s performance, emphasizing that Chelsea had proven they could compete at the highest level against any team.
“We can compete, I’ve said that many times. We can compete, no matter what the competition, despite the fact there are clubs, like Arsenal, that have had the same manager for five years. We are behind, but this doesn’t mean we aren’t going to compete. We are Chelsea and we are going to compete in every game,” he expressed.
