Bebe Akapo, a 41-year-old mechanic, was charged with three counts of car theft on Tuesday in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, whose residence is still unidentified, is accused of felony and theft.
His plea to the charges was not guilty.
No. 8 Wale Ajose Street, Abule Era, Ilogbo, Lagos is where the crime was committed on March 25, according to prosecutor inspector Edet Ekpe, who briefed the court.
As stated by Ekpe, the defendant allegedly planned to steal three cars as part of a conspiracy with other people who are still at large.
“Mr. Bashir Qudus, Yusuf Ganiyu, and Yusuf Bashiru, the complainants, owned two Toyota Sienna space cars and one Toyota Camry car with registration numbers LSR 928 HE, KSF 497 EP, and SMK 373 FL, which were stolen by the defendant,” he stated.
Sections 411 and 287 of Lagos State’s 2015 Criminal Law were broken by the offence.
