“Miracle Reunion: Chibok Schoolgirl Returns After Nine-Year Abduction”

At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, warmly received Rebecca Kabu, one of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014. Accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Tinubu promised to ensure Rebecca’s well-being and medical care, helping her return to school with eagerness.

Expressing her commitment to the cause, Tinubu expressed gratitude to security agencies, the National Security Adviser, and the National Intelligence Agency for their involvement in Rebecca’s rescue. She pledged her NGO’s support to help mature girls, like Rebecca, who were forced out of school, return for quality education.

Rebecca, who was kidnapped at 13 and now aged 22, was rescued by government security agencies on July 17. She has been certified medically and mentally fit for reunification with her family. The First Lady’s initiative seeks to provide education and support to returnees like Rebecca, ensuring they can inherit the legacies left by older generations.
