Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, shares the story of how his late son, Mohbad, crossed paths with his wife, Wunmi, within Naira Marley’s record label.
The grieving father revealed that Mohbad and Omowunmi had a prior acquaintance dating back to their childhood in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos, before their reunion at Marlian Music.
He described his son as an unassuming and humble individual, emphasizing that when Mohbad and Omowunmi reconnected, there were no hidden motives.
Mr. Aloba provided context for the lyrics of Mohbad’s 2020 song “Komajensun,” particularly the verse “Naira lo gbe omo fun mi, I’m not a womanizer,” explaining how this line referred to his son’s reunion with Wunmi at Marlian Records.
“He (Mohbad) met the lady (Wunmi) there (at Marlian Music) but they had known each other from Oke-Iletu, even though the lady was a student then,” clarified Mr. Aloba.
