MTN Customers Protest Nationwide Over NIN-SIM Blocking

Disgruntled MTN customers have flooded the company’s offices nationwide, voicing frustration over the recent blocking of their phone numbers. On Sunday, MTN deactivated numerous lines for failing to link National Identification Numbers (NIN) with phone numbers, following NCC’s directive to enforce disconnections from July 31, 2024.

At the time of this report, MTN has not released an official statement, and the total number of affected lines remains unclear. The situation has sparked widespread anger, as many subscribers report their lines blocked despite completing the required NIN linkage.
