My Visit to Wike Not to Influence Tribunal Judgment, Says Nasarawa Governor

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has clarified that his recent meeting with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, was not an attempt to influence the ongoing Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in the state. Instead, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss collaboration between Nasarawa and the FCT on projects such as the construction of a metro line from Apo in the FCT to Keffi in Nasarawa State and the development of the Gurku/Kabusu mega city.

The governor’s clarification comes in response to allegations made by the state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Francis Orogu, who cautioned against involving national political figures like President Bola Tinubu and Nyesom Wike in the state’s political matters.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, emphasized that the visit to the FCT Minister was a positive step toward collaboration and development for the benefit of the state. He noted that Nasarawa State has seen progress under Governor Abdullahi Sule’s leadership through such collaborations.

Ahemba also addressed what he considered to be the opposition party’s efforts to create false narratives and distractions, stating that Governor Sule remains focused on governance and has respect for the judiciary’s ability to dispense justice fairly.

This clarification highlights the governor’s commitment to development and collaboration between Nasarawa State and the FCT, while also responding to allegations from the opposition party.
