Marlian Music CEO, Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has issued a statement addressing allegations linking him to the untimely death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad. The late MohBad, a former member of Marlian Music, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.
In various video clips, MohBad had claimed that he was assaulted by individuals allegedly sent by Naira Marley and his associate, Samson Eletu (Sam Larry). These allegations had prompted a public outcry and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s death.
Naira Marley, in his statement posted on Instagram, refuted any involvement in MohBad’s death, stating that while there were issues between them, they were in the process of resolving their disputes legally. He also clarified that their disagreements, though existing, had never escalated to the extent portrayed by some.
The statement read in part: “Permit me to categorically state that I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa either directly or indirectly. It is not unusual in the industry, like in several industries, to have family friction, even amongst blood relatives. Truly, we had our share of misunderstandings whilst working together, but the disagreement between us was never to the extent being painted by some hirelings. It never degenerated to the extent of wishing each other death. Even at that, we were resolving our business dispute legally before he had passed.”
Naira Marley’s response comes amid ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s tragic passing. The music industry and fans alike continue to mourn the loss of the talented young artist.
Please note that this information is based on the statements made by Naira Marley and may be subject to further developments and investigations.
