Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has stated that he has no ambition to become a lawmaker in either the Senate or the House of Representatives after completing his eight-year tenure as governor. Sule, who sought re-election in the 2023 governorship election, faced legal challenges from the opposition, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, David Ombugadu. The Supreme Court recently upheld Sule’s victory in the election.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Governor Sule emphasized that his primary goal is to serve as governor, and he has no aspirations for legislative positions such as senator or member of the House of Representatives. He categorically ruled out running for the Senate after completing his term, stating that he entered politics with the specific aim of being a governor.

Sule expressed confidence in his administration’s ability to deliver on its promises and work for the development of Nasarawa State. The governor’s remarks come after the Supreme Court affirmed his election victory, bringing an end to the legal challenges to his tenure.
The governor’s commitment to focusing on the executive role and not pursuing legislative positions reflects his dedication to serving the people of Nasarawa State in his current capacity.
