Nigerian content creator and singer, Nasboi, has urged Nigerians to stop using celebrity marriages as a yardstick for defining relationships. His comments come in the wake of widespread reactions to singer 2Baba’s announcement about his separation from wife, Annie, and their impending divorce. Nasboi pointed out that many forget the longevity of more grounded marriages, like those of their parents, while focusing on celebrity relationships.
In a post on X, Nasboi reminded Nigerians that marriage is a personal decision, and encouraged people not to be influenced by the high-profile struggles of celebrities. He also expressed a desire for privacy regarding his own future marriage, vowing to keep it away from public scrutiny to avoid unwanted opinions from strangers.
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala weighed in on the 2Baba-Annie divorce, claiming that the breakup was long overdue and suggesting that Annie used “juju” to hold on to the marriage. Doris also argued that 2Baba was the true victim, while criticizing the women supporting Annie, calling them “witches” and asserting that they played a role in the challenges the couple faced.
